Rooted in the deep time of landscapes, NEULAND explores how humans might reconnect with the living matter beneath their feet. Inspired by the future of wetlands, the piece follows Sami, a hybrid being, who awakens in a lifeless terrain. While digging through degraded sediment layers, she uncovers traces of life and encounters new worlds. Between natural and artificial elements, a fragile ecosystem begins to form.
The 30-minute performance is preceded by an essayistic short film that introduces the narrative space and ecological context. NEULAND is a touring project with site-specific scenography. By adapting each iteration to the local landscape, it invites a broad audience to engage with the question of how damaged terrain can be reimagined and regenerated.
